Who collects information about
you Mailier collects information
provided on this Site and through use of our Service. We will not sell, share,
or rent this information to others in ways different from that disclosed in this
Policy.
What personally identifiable information is
collected from you and third parties Mailier collects information from our Members at
several different points:
Registration In order to become a registered Member, a Member must first
complete the registration process on the Site. A Member is required to provide
certain information, for example their contact information (name, postal address and email
address), selected demographic information and preferences. This information is
requested so that our Service may be more tailored to your specific
requirements.
Other information we obtain from
you We want you to enjoy our Service and
retain as much control as possible in terms of what you receive or send attached
to your emails. Our aim is to only attach advertising and other content, which
is, as far as possible, tailored to each Member's self-selected preferences.
In order to tailor the content on your emails, we request additional
information from you about your preferences and what you think your contacts
will be interested in. For example, it is possible to specify what you and your
contacts interests are from a number of categories. You can change these
preferences at any time. The content of your emails will be stored in our database. This information will be used to determine relevant advertisements for the emails you receive and those you send.
In the course of your use of our Site and Service, it may be possible for us
to collect information about you and your email recipients. For example, through
the use of Cookies (see below) we are able to determine which adverts you or
recipients actually click through to an advertisers website from. We will
maintain and use such information as if it had been supplied to us directly by
you.
IP Addresses An IP address is a numeric address assigned to your computer.
We use IP addresses for system administration and security. We may also use your
IP address to determine the name of your Internet service provider ("ISP"). We
also track certain clickthrough data generated by you and your recipients. We
may share aggregated and/or anonymised ISP information with our Advertisers and
business providers.
Cookies Cookies are pieces of information that a Website places in a
file associated with your browser. This information allows the Website to store
and reference a variety of information while you are visiting a site. We use
cookies to keep track of your activity and the activities of your email
recipients when you or they are signed in to our Site. We also use cookies to
track the activities of you and your email recipients when you or they are using
our Service. Cookies contain no personally identifiable Information.
What Mailier uses the information
for Mailier primarily makes money
through selling advertising content for your emails and enabling e-commerce
transactions, which in turn enables us to reward you with rewards for using our
Service.
Mailier does research on the demographics, interests, and behaviour
of Members based on the information provided to us at registration, during an
update you make to your personal preferences for content, and from our server
log files. We do this to better understand and serve Members. This research is
compiled, sorted and analysed on an aggregated and/or anonymised basis. This
aggregated and/or anonymised information may be shared with Mailier's
Advertisers or business providers.
With whom may information about you be
shared? Only Mailier has access to
individuals' accounts and to the personally identifiable information collected
through your use of our Site and Service. Mailier will not disclose
any personally identifiable information unless you have agreed to our
registration agreement through the registration process or other 'opt-in'
authorisation on our website, or when Mailier may legally be bound to
do so.
From time to time, Mailier.com may enter into agreements with third parties who
wish to directly send you email offers. In such instances, personally
identifiable information may be shared with the relevant third party with whom
Mailier.com has entered into the agreement.
Information provided to other organizations,
which may be linked to our Service When
you or your email recipient transacts with an Advertiser (i.e. you have
clicked-through to email advertisers website and perform a transaction), you may be required to submit
personal information, including credit card information. Such transactions are
entirely between you (or the recipient) and the Website you are visiting and
Mailier is not responsible for any of the information you or an email
recipient submits. We recommend, therefore, that you and your email recipients
understand an Advertiser's practices, including their
privacy policies, before transacting with them.
Security procedures in place to protect you and
information about you Our Site and Service
have security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of
information under our control. When Members submit sensitive information via the
website, your information is protected both online and off-line. Access to your
Account is password protected. Please keep your password confidential.
We use industry standard procedures and processes to safeguard the
confidentiality of your personal information. Unfortunately, when you submit
information about yourself to Mailier over the Internet, the
information may travel over many systems that are not under our control. The
Internet, of course, is not fully secure and others may intercept the
information that you send. We recommend that you take all steps available to you
to safeguard your personal information, including passwords, by keeping them in
a safe place and closing your browser when it is not in use.
All of our Members' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned
above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to
perform a specific job (for example, a customer service representative) are
granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees are
notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy on a regular
basis, and what they can do to ensure our Members' information is protected.
Notification of changes to Privacy
Policy We may change our Privacy Policy
from time to time. We will not advise you of these changes but any changes will
be recorded on the Site on the revised Privacy page.
Limitations Although your privacy is important to us, due to the
complicated legal and technical environment in which we provide our Service, we
cannot guarantee that your personal Information will not be disclosed to third
parties in ways not described or contemplated by this policy.
If information submitted by a Member, or other content posted or otherwise
transmitted to Mailier, is subpoenaed or otherwise required to be
produced or made available to a third party by court order or governmental
administration agency order, Mailier shall attempt to provide
notification to the Member(s) who provided such information or content and to
the extent permitted by such order, applicable law and the particular
circumstances, shall allow a reasonable period for Members to respond to such
demand for production. In any event, we may, and you authorize us to, disclose
any information about you to law enforcement or other governmental officials as
we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate.
